F.A.Q.s

Frequently asked questions about classes and training:

Who can participate in a boot camp?

People of all fitness levels can join. Classes are designed to accommodate those of all fitness level and ability. This is achieved by the use of timed activities, using weights or just body resistance, and providing alternative movements for those requiring them. This is specialized personal training at its finest.

Why is your camp is different from other classes and camps?

My training is all natural, I want people to see the results, which is why I am a comprehensive trainer that focuses on more than just working out and eating: I take into account the camper's schedule, lifestyle, stress, sleeping habits, and much more... all this to be at peace with their mind and body. You can live a simplistic healthy lifestyle through my program. All of my classes and training instruct on how and what to prepare for meals, planning ahead, and how to fit those workouts in no matter where you will be that day! My motto is "smarter, not always harder!"

What do I need to bring with me to class?

A mat, a set of free weights of your choice, typically 3, 5, or 8 lbs or combinations of sets, a towel, and water. If you're not ready for weights simple body resistance can be used.

Should I eat before class?

It is always best to at least have something before class. We do not want you to pass out and you need fuel for class! Ideally a small protein bar, shake, or light breakfast. Make sure your meal consists of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.

Is class too hard and are you going to scream at me like a drill sergeant?

Class is as easy or as challenging as you make it. Instructors provide alternative movements and a variety of exercises so that every may get a challenging work-out. If an exercise is too difficult then modifications are provided and you can rest at any time. There is only screaming if you ask for it.

Why do we take measurements?

It is always best to see results - and what better way than taking measurements to see how we have improved? In addition, we can take body fat measurements and we do a fitness test in class at the beginning and end. All of this gives feedback on how your bodies have changed and improved over time!

Accountability and consistency: what is expected of me?

The boot camp classes and personal training have a common denominator that is the need for CONSISTENCY! One cannot expect to see phenomenal results if you are not willing to put forth the effort. Showing up for class is a great start but it needs to go beyond that. Participants in any program should take advantage of all classes and make them up if necessary - as well as attend all extra seminars, lectures and APPLY the information. Nutrition classes are critical to help incorporate the necessary dietary information that will help see EXCEPTIONAL RESULTS! That is why the term "boot camp" is used, it refers to the level of consistency and accountability a recruit must have to succeed. I only accept dedicated campers!
